This private school is known for its rich traditions, strong sense of community, and resilience.
You'll be based at a stunning outdoor recreation campus nestled between the Bombay Hills and the Hunua Ranges-a setting where the land (whenua) is vibrant and learners (ākonga) are deeply connected to the natural environment (te taiao) as part of their educational journey.
The onsite team of 15-20 staff is diverse and highly experienced, bringing together outdoor instructors from around the globe to create unforgettable experiences for students in years 7- 13.
This is a live-in position, and accommodation is provided, with options to suit individuals and families. Choose from stand-alone houses or flats with shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. Commuting is also an option if you live nearby. Meals are included when students are onsite during term time, and you'll receive complimentary power, internet, and a phone allowance.
Role Overview
As an Outdoor Instructor, you will:

- Prioritise health and safety, ensuring all students are well-supervised, safe, and supported, especially within the boarding facility (some pastoral/residential care duties are included).
- Support and participate in all campus learning
- Plan, organise, and lead outdoor trips, including overseeing logistics, student management, gear maintenance, and post-activity debriefs.
- Assist in reviewing and updating campus policies, procedures, and health & safety
- Follow all child safety policies and conduct
