Job description

National Pallet Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a fast-paced and dynamic operations team. This pivotal role will oversee the management of pallet logistics across the country, with direct responsibility for ensuring accurate tracking, controlling, and cost management of pallets within the supply chain. You'll be a key player in driving efficiency and influencing stakeholders to protect and enhance profitability, while managing relationships with key customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pallet Management: Oversee the logistics and control of pallets, ensuring the system is accurate and clients are billed correctly.
  • Cost Control: Understand the cost implications of pallet movements and ensure that all pallet fees are accounted for and returned products credited back accurately.
  • Team Leadership: Manage a small team of controllers, ensuring they stay on top of the details and systems to prevent costly errors.
  • Customer Relationships: Work closely with clients to maintain positive relationships, ensuring they understand the costs and return policies for pallets.
  • Reporting: Use SAP and Microsoft Excel to generate detailed reports, analyze data, and provide insight into the performance of pallet logistics.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Senior Leadership, including the Head of Shared Services and GM of Finance, to ensure operational success.

About You:

  • Supply Chain Knowledge: A solid understanding of supply chain processes is essential, ideally with experience in retail or inventory management.
  • Influencing Skills: You'll need strong influencing skills to manage upwards and work with senior leaders to drive change.Systems Savvy: Proficient in SAP and Excel, with the ability to analyse data and translate it into actionable insights.
  • Leadership and Autonomy: A natural leader who can manage a small team with a hands-on approach while also being highly visible within the business.
  • High Attention to Detail: The role demands someone who thrives on precision-making sure every pallet is accounted for, and all financials are accurate.
