About the role
 
This is a newly established role and will form an integral part of the close-knit and highly experienced team of steel fabricators and installers. You’ll be supporting across a diverse portfolio of multi-unit residential and medium to large scale commercial projects in Wellington and your duties will include:
  • Preparing cost estimates and proposals for structural steel and metalworks fabrication and erection - including materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor costs
  • Prepare monthly subcontractor payment claims and provide up to date forecasting of final accounts
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers
  • Collaborating closely with the sales and operations teams to ensure we’re delivering exactly what our clients need
  • Collate documentation and submit variation claims to the main contractor
  • Budget tracking and financial forecasting on your assigned project
The ideal candidate will bring
  • 3 - 5+ years’ Quantity Surveying and/or Estimating experience in New Zealand
  • An ability to build and maintain good working relationships with clients, suppliers and colleagues
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management and negotiation skills
  • A good understanding of financial reporting
  • Contract / subcontract interpretation and management experience
