Job description

  • Top rate + 30 Sept to 1st November
  • 40 hours/4 days a week!
  • Medical specialists + Free onsite parking

The Position

Intro: This is a very interesting small and friendly medical unit that is part of larger group with a range of specialities that cater to both adult and child patients. You will report to the Clinical Manager and be part of a close knit team environment where patient care and customer service is paramount

  • Solely greeting patients and ensuring all details are correct for theatre, only some phone calls (ie not busy)
  • Inputting and updating patient information
  • Printing patient labels
  • Creating patient files & filing once discharged
  • Forwarding correspondence eg from GP's/DHB's
  • Theatre lists ie daily printing of, compiling from Surgeons and distributing to Manager, Charge Nurse etc; liaise with Surgeons, then staff re any changes
  • Costing and patient invoicing
  • Use of Southern Cross Portal
  • General office admin, stationery, debtor invoicing when required, mail, email
  • Health & Safety adherence

You

  • Will have considerable medical reception administration experience from either within a Hospital or Medical Specialist environment
  • Have used the Southern Cross portal
  • An empathetic, caring and calm manner
  • A knowledge of webPAS (web patient administration system) would be helpful but not essential

Hours

  • 6.30am to 5pm with 1/2 hr lunch, and two tea breaks
  • Four 10 hour days with alternate Mondays off, and Thursday or a Friday the alternate week

  • Negotiable rate according to experience, more of a senior level required
  • Free undercover parking in basement of building
  • Cross over training in general and on to their patient booking system (webPAS) for the first two weeks
  • Assignment duration 30 September to 1st November
  • On public transport route (bus, ferry, train) and near great downtown cafes
  • Weekly pay on a Wednesday
  • A small friendly unit with 'lovely morning teas'
  • Due to the current staff member going on leave overseas
