We are looking for a psychologist to join a growing well-established team. You will have a big focus on patients who are going through cancer treatment. We would consider someone who has a background in counselling, we are seeking a compassionate and experienced Cancer Counsellor to join a growing team. In this vital role, you will provide emotional support and guidance to patients navigating the complexities of a cancer diagnosis, treatment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Individual Counselling: Conduct one-on-one sessions to help clients process their emotions related to cancer diagnoses, treatment, and life changes.
  • Family Counselling: Facilitate family sessions to support loved ones in coping with the emotional impact of cancer and to strengthen communication.
  • Develop Tailored Support Plans: Assess individual client needs and create customized support plans that incorporate coping strategies and resilience-building techniques.
  • Integrate Holistic Approaches: Utilize mindfulness practices, stress-reduction techniques, and other holistic methods to promote overall well-being.
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Providers: Work closely with medical professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to client care.
  • Provide Resources: Offer information about support groups, workshops, and other community resources for clients and their families.
  • Document Progress: Maintain accurate and confidential client records, including treatment plans and progress notes.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master's degree in counselling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Licensure: Current licensure in your field (LCSW, LPC, or equivalent).
  • Experience: Previous experience in cancer care or working with individuals facing serious illness preferred.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine ability to empathize and connect with clients.
  • Approach: A holistic, client-centred approach that recognizes the emotional, social, and spiritual aspects of cancer.
